Khalet Al-Dabe3 village by Awdah Alhathaleen
Located on the peak of a mountain and overlooking it’s surrounding villages, Khallet Al-Dabaa is a Palestinian village located southeast of the city of Yatta.
From the rest of the villages of Masafer Yatta gives it a great advantage.
Twenty Palestinian families live in Khallet Al-Dabaa in a state of anxiety, waiting with anticipation, since the Israeli Civil Administration of the occupation issued a military decision to confiscate the lands of the Khallet Al-Dabaa community, claiming that it is a “training area” for the army of the occupation.
The Israeli occupation focused on Khallet Al-Dabaa to demolish some houses in the village, so that some families were forced to restore the caves in the village and live in them after the occupation demolished their homes, and they had no other dwelling except for these caves.
They did not only demolish houses, they also destroyed the agricultural land belonging to the village of Khallet Al-Dabaa. They destroyed the trees and water wells in the Khallet Al-Dabaa reserve as well as the fence surrounding the reserve, all with the help of the colonizers who seized the lands of the Palestinians surrounding the village and below.
It’s clear that the goal of demolishing the houses and destroying the reserve is to displace the Palestinians from Khallet Al-Dabaa and all the villages of Masafer Yatta. The Israeli occupation even targets schools in Masafer Yatta and demolishes them. One such school is the Khallet Al-Dabaa School, which has been demolished several times, forcing students to continue their studies under the hot sun. For an entire week, the students continued their studies without a school.
This is a malicious strategy to push the indigenous people out of their homes and lands.
When the Israeli occupation punishes children to put pressure on the indigenous people of the village, it acts as a terrorist operation against humanity and the rights of children to obtain education and build the future
